  • Preschoolers and Newcomers will be allowed to wear form-fitting athletic wear such as leggings and a tank top.

    Girls must wear a leotard. Boys can also wear a leotard OR shorts & t-shirt.

    Footwear: Gym-shoes with clean pair of socks or barefoot.

    Hair must be pulled back neatly in either a bun/plait/ponytail.

  • All children and applicants should bring a bottle of water. (optional: chalk, which can be purchased from Chun Gymnastics)

  • Of course! Regardless of gymnastics experience and age, we accommodate any level :)

  • Yes! In 2016, we implemented classes catered toward boys artistic gymnastics. In both mens’s and women’s artistic gymnastics there are the vault and floor exercises. However, women’s gymnastics floor routines include music and dance artistry, whereas men’s do not. All the other events are different, where women have uneven bars and the balance beam for a total of 4 apparatus, whilst men have the high bar, parallel bars, still rings, and pommel horse for a total of 6 apparatus.

  • Chun Gymnastics offers leotards specifically catered to both boys and girls. If you would like to purchase a girls leotard OR boys leotard & shorts, kindly speak to one of our coaches after the first session.

  • Chalk is mainly used to combat sweat during training in order to prevent slipping when flipping. It can also help with reducing friction specifically when practising on the bars.

    It can also be bought from us before or after a lesson and should always be stored in a tupperware container.

  • Hand-guards are an invention for gymnasts’ hands used primarily when practicing on any bar or rings apparatus to enhance their grip. It works hand-in-hand with chalk to reduce friction when performing skills, particularly with the bars apparatus.

  • Every child/applicant who decides to start their journey of gymnastics with us will be sorted according to their age group. In the case where the individual has previous gymnastics experience, they will be tested on their level of mobility, stamina, flexibility, balance, and strength; attributes that are all necessary in the world of artistic gymnastics. Once they are tested, one or more of our coaches will then decide which level they should begin at.

    Badges:

    Each level consists of its own list of skills which must ALL be executed correctly before advancing to the next level.

  • This is prohibited at all centres as this can disrupt the focus of gymnasts which is dangerous when performing foundation and complex skills. Therefore, parents/guardians are to wait for their children near their respective school’s main entrance.

    Open days are organised throughout the year for guardians to follow up on their child/ren progress.
